General Contracting & Home Remodeling in the Tri-State Area
Residential and commercial construction, site work and excavation, additions, whole-house renovation, kitchens, baths, decks and garages — scoped, permitted and built by one contractor.
Tri State Enterprise has been building and remodeling in the tri-state since 1990. The general contracting division takes on the work that changes a structure or the ground under it: new residential construction, commercial additions, build-outs and renovation, additions that add real square footage, whole-house renovations, kitchen and bathroom remodels, decks and garages, and the site work and excavation that come before them. We hold the schedule, pull the permits, coordinate the trades and stay accountable for the finished result, so you are not the one calling the excavator, the framer, the plumber and the inspector. Homes and buildings across Ashland, Huntington, Portsmouth, Ironton and the surrounding communities range from century-old structures to newer builds, and the scope is written around what your property actually is once we have walked it.

How general contracting work runs
Scope before demolition
We walk the house, agree on what is being built, and put the scope in writing before anything comes apart. Changes discovered mid-project are priced and approved as change orders, not absorbed silently.
Permits and inspections
Construction work in Kentucky, West Virginia and Ohio is permitted and inspected. We handle the permit applications and schedule inspections as part of the project, and build to what the inspector will sign off on.
Phased schedule
Larger projects run in phases with their own start dates — demolition, structural, rough-in, inspection, finish. You get the phase you are in and what is next, not a single vague completion date.
Trades under one roof
Our HVAC, paving and landscaping divisions are in-house and our own crews run the site work and excavation, so ductwork, a new driveway apron or regrading around an addition are scheduled by the same office running the build.
Where we work
General Contracting crews work out of Ashland, Kentucky and cover the tri-state area — Kentucky, West Virginia and Ohio.
Start with a walk-through
Tell us what you want built or changed. We will look at the property, talk through what the work involves, and put the scope in writing before anything begins.
