Frequently Asked Questions
Answers about the work
Estimates and site visits, permits, weather delays, material delivery, project timelines, HVAC service, and seasonal contracts — the questions customers across the tri-state area actually ask.
Estimates
How do I schedule a consultation for an estimate?
Call (606) 836-2534 to arrange a consultation, or submit a callback request with the property address and a description of the work. We will discuss the job and arrange a site visit to look at measurements, access, drainage, and existing conditions before preparing an estimate. The office number accepts calls; it is not a text line.
Do you publish prices online?
No. What a driveway, a remodel, or a season of lawn care costs depends on measurements, site conditions, materials, and access, so a published number would be wrong more often than right. Every price comes in a written estimate after we have seen the property.
Does requesting an estimate commit me to anything?
A consultation request starts a conversation; it does not book construction or service work. We confirm the visit with you, look at the job, and prepare an estimate. Most accepted jobs require a deposit to join the job board.
Scheduling & Weather
What happens if it rains on my paving or concrete date?
Asphalt and concrete both need a dry subgrade and workable temperatures. If the forecast will not support the mat or the pour, we move the date rather than place material that fails early. You get the call as soon as the decision is made, and the job goes back in at the next workable window.
How far out are you scheduling?
It depends on the division, the season, and how much of the work is weather-dependent — paving, concrete, and excavation all move with the ground and the forecast. Your estimate comes with a realistic start window, and the office tells you when that window changes.
Can I reschedule or cancel scheduled work?
Call the office as early as possible to discuss a schedule change or cancellation. Availability, ordered materials, and the terms of your agreement determine the next steps. The office number is for calls, not text messages.
Projects
How long will my project take?
The written scope breaks the job into phases with a target duration for each. Permits, inspections, material lead times, and weather are the usual reasons a phase moves. If conditions change the work itself, the change order is priced and approved before the crew continues.
Permits & Inspections
Does my job need a permit, and who pulls it?
Additions, structural work, decks, garages, mechanical replacements, and some driveway and right-of-way work require a permit from the jurisdiction the property sits in. The written scope identifies which permits the job needs, who files for them, and which inspections have to pass before the next phase starts.
Materials
Can you deliver dirt, mulch, topsoil, or gravel on its own?
Yes. Material supply and delivery is its own service — you do not have to buy the install with it. Tell us the material, roughly how much you need, and where a truck can get in and dump on the property, and we will confirm the load and the delivery window.
How is bulk material measured?
Mulch, topsoil and fill dirt are sold by the cubic yard. Gravel, crusher run, river rock and masonry sand are loaded by the scoop — one bucket from our loader. Three scoops is about 2½ tons and five is about 4½. Loose material varies with moisture, so the office confirms the quantity for your site before delivery, and pricing is quoted in writing.
Landscaping
Do you offer seasonal lawn contracts?
Yes. A maintenance agreement can cover mowing on a set route, fertilization, mulching, bed upkeep, and spring and fall cleanup for the season. The agreement lists the visits included, what happens when a week is rained out, and how one-off extras are handled.
My yard holds water. Is that a landscaping job?
Usually it is a grading and drainage job first. We look at where the water comes from, where it is trying to go, and what the grade around the structure actually does before recommending regrading, drainage correction, a retaining wall, or a change in how the surface sheds water. Planting over an unsolved drainage problem just buries it.
HVAC
Do you take emergency HVAC calls?
Office hours are Mon–Fri 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Call the HVAC direct line at (606) 831-2960 (or the office at (606) 836-2534), describe the equipment, the symptom, and whether the building has any heat or cooling at all, and we will tell you the soonest a technician can be there.
Should I repair my system or replace it?
A technician looks at the age of the equipment, what actually failed, the refrigerant it runs, the condition of the ductwork, and whether the system is sized for the building. When replacement is genuinely on the table you get both options in writing instead of a verdict.
Paving
Can you patch my driveway instead of replacing it?
Sometimes. Whether a surface can be patched or resurfaced depends on the base underneath it, how water leaves the area, and how far the cracking has gone. We check the subgrade and the drainage before recommending a patch, an overlay, or a full removal and replacement — an overlay on a failed base fails again.
Trust & Safety
Are you licensed and insured for this work?
Ask the office and we will send the current license and certificate of insurance that apply to the trade your job falls under before work starts.
Payments
How do I pay for my job?
Use the Real Green payments link at the top of the website for the customer payment account, or call the office about payment arrangements. Most accepted jobs require a deposit to join the job board. The estimate will explain the deposit and any progress payments for your job.
